Benjamin W. Tartaglia, MBA, BSIM, Director of Client Services, founded the firm in 1976. In 1989 he founded the International Disaster Recovery Association (IDRA), and serves as the Executive Director for the Association.

Benjamin Tartaglia has thirty years experience managing in a number of fields including; consulting, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, insurance, service and education. His background encompasses a variety of management, technology and administrative positions in private, government, educational and professional organizations in union and non-union environments. He has managed 50+ people through direct reports and $3,000,000 in budget.

Areas of day-to-day management responsibilities have included; Management Information Systems, Voice, Data, Image and Sensory Telecommunications, Contingency and Disaster Recovery Planning, Business Systems Analysis, Management Engineering, Systems and Procedures, Records Management, Policies and Procedures Configuration Control, Human Resources, Purchasing, Material Management, Production and Inventory Control, Reprographics, Postal Services and Word Processing.

In 1976 he founded BWT Associates, an independent management consulting firm that utilizes management, organizational and technology tools to solve client problems. In his capacity as principal of the firm he has performed and supervised consulting assignments for large and smaller client organizations.

In 1989 he founded the International Disaster Recovery Association, (IDRA), a professional group specializing in the telecommunication aspects of contingency planning, business continuation and disaster recovery. As Executive director of IDRA, He has produced ten annual multi-day conferences as well as numerous seminars and workshops on telecommunications disaster avoidance, mitigation, recovery and restoration.

He has ten years experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the evening divisions of several colleges including: Clark University (COPACE), Western New England College, Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester State College and Central New England College. Courses taught include: “Management Information Systems”, “Business Systems Analysis”, “Production and Inventory Control”, and a Six-session Saturday Morning seminar series on “Productivity and The Effective Use of Resources”. He makes presentations to professional groups on management and technology topics and for their members’ certification purposes.

Benjamin Tartaglia has extensive experience in a number of industries performing systems and procedures, management information systems, management engineering, telecommunications and administrative functions. In all these positions he had the responsibility to develop effective written policies, procedures and instruction manuals for corporate, customer and departmental use.

He has developed a number of his own techniques and modified others to convey written instructions in a clear, concise and timely manner. He has reduced the time to train individuals in complicated procedures by 50 to 90 %. He has audited the manuals of large corporations for accuracy, currency and effectiveness.
